Why is the SUN Coach Training Program Unique?

ICF accredited SUN Certification teaches coaches how to offer a specific coaching program as well as to learn skills and competencies needed to manage the coaching process.  Coaches also receive full support in setting up their business: e.g., business plan, marketing strategy and techniques, office organization, etc.

SUN prefers to train coaches who acknowledge they are on a spiritual journey and are willing to integrate their spirituality into their coaching. Community is important to SUN coaches, and the number of highly trained coaches in SUN is intentionally small.  SUN coaches meet each year for retreats, learning, renewal and sharing.

1. The program we offer to clients teaches a structure as well as a coaching process.  The structure involves three British techniques: The Results Game, The Well being Game, and The Guidelines for Living.
2. SUN is a one-to-one, in person, tailored certification program fit to the specific time and training needs of the applicant.
3. We require that clients and coach applicants begin coaching by learning their Life Purpose.
4. A Practicum (often spiritual in nature) offers the coach in training the opportunity to work through an obstacle that limits extraordinary performance.

WHAT IS THE SUN PHILOSOPHY?

What is a coach?  A coach guides clients over time (4+ months) using an inquiry process that focuses on personal discovery and responsibility, to consistently obtain desired results in all life areas with a sense of well being, fulfillment and satisfaction.

History of Success Unlimited Network®, LLC

Success Unlimited Network®, LLC, the oldest coaching certification program on record, began in England in 1981 under the name of Results Unlimited.  The program is based on a model of Business Management and Sports coaching.  The company purpose and techniques draw upon Gallwey’s Inner Game sports coaching material, and are in alignment with Robert Fritz’s DMA, now called The Technologies for Creating. Perspectives from NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), Integrative Learning and Lozanov’s Accelerated Learning were added.

 

The Certification Program in Detail

All SUN trainers are MCCs – Master Certified Coaches with certification from the ICF and advanced educational degrees– to ensure that you receive the highest quality of training from successful, experienced Mentor Coaches.

TIME FRAME:   The program takes a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 3 years to complete. You coach 3+ full-paying clients during the program and need to complete their eight meetings.

CONTENT: 

 I.  FOUNDATIONS OF COACHING:  Because our techniques and process are unique, it is necessary to learn and experience them for yourself before offering it to others. This module takes place over 4-5 months, meetings about 2 -3 weeks apart, 2 hours each meeting.
II. PRACTICUM:  Each coach has a Practicum to be designed by you and your Coach Trainer. Your Practicum impacts all areas of your life, allows you to use most of the program processes and techniques on yourself and lasts for the entire Certification. It is usually something of a spiritual nature. By the end of the Certification Program you will experience living at the level of excellence in your life.

Examples of some practicums are:

¨       to learn to let go

¨       to live my stable road map with freedom

¨       to let my inner music out

¨       to become aware of, identify and act on healthful choices

The personal practicum is fairly comprehensive and could bring extraordinary results and well-being.
III.  CLIENTS and OBSERVATION:  You coach a minimum of three of your own full-paying clients. There are 31+ hours of observation and 85+ role play skill practices with coaching situations. You also have a Mentor Coach during this time.

IV.  THE SUCCESS PROGRAM, ADMINISTRATION and ACCREDITATION:  The content and process of the coaching certification program takes 125  hours, depending upon your entry level of experience, expertise, and learning style and rate. During these meetings we work through the entire Success Program using the 250 page SUN Certification Manual as a reference.  We cover each area of life and all the processes used in that area. You develop a business plan, a marketing strategy and your personal vision. You also learn the ethics and legalities of our profession and all administrative systems needed to be in business.

 

Successful completion of the SUN program enables you to be a Certified SUN Coach (C.S.C.) and part of the network of people serving the planet in this way. With your SUN certificate and 750 hours coaching experience, you may apply for the ICF credential, Professional Certified Coach (P.C.C.).
